TRANSNATIONAL MEETING IN FRANCE

Dear all,

From the 16 th of June until the 18th , Escola Pia Olot took part in the 3rd Transnational Meeting in France. This meeting was very important in order to carry out our Erasmus + project properly, to discuss about what we have done and to pave the way for the next year. 
Here you have two videos. One prepared by the 6th grade students , which was presented in France , and the other one is a compilation of photographs taken during the meeting.

Running dictation

Aquesta setmana els alumnes de 4t hem baixat al pati per practicar la lectura i l'expressió escrita en llengua anglesa.

Hem fet un "running dictation", un joc en el qual cada parella ha d'aconseguir escriure unes frases que estan enganxades a les parets del pati. Però amb una condició: un membre de la parella ha de córrer molt i l'altre no es pot moure.

Ha estat divertit i hem suat de valent corrent amunt i avall!

ENGLISH: Coneixem els carrers de la nostra ciutat.

Avui hem après de quina manera podem guiar a una persona si ens demana com arribar a un lloc. 

En concret, hem buscat varis punts de la nostra ciutat i hem creat diversos recorreguts per arribar-hi des de l'escola.

Ho hem fet amb l'estructura cooperativa del "llapis al mig" i utilitzant el Google Maps!

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM IRELAND!

Dear all,

In December we wrote some letters and made some Christmas cards for our 'penfriends' in Ireland. Gaelscoil na Lochanna is the school name, isn't it a strange name?  They speak English but also Irish. We struggled wth the Irish language on the website!  

We were so pleased with this activity!  On Monday we received their answers, letters and nice Christmas cards too! 

OUR ADVENT CALENDAR IS HERE!

On the 1st of December we began the countdown to Christmas!

We have created our own Advent calendar!
First of all we made an envelope and we decorated it. Then, we filled each envelope with a message and a piece of chocolate. Finally , all the envelopes were hanged on strings with wood pegs. We are so excited about opening them!

ENGLISH DAY

Dear all,

6th  grade students took part in the English day held in 'Pavelló Firal' on 19th May.
They spent the morning playing different games and enjoying by meeting students from different schools.

CAN WE EAT LIGHT?

Dear all,
During this week we are working on an II+D about light. The question: 'Can we eat light?'. We are doing lots of things in English, stating hypothesis , asking new questions, searching for information and , above all, experimenting. We've learnt what is light, how it travels , where it is produced and something really amazing: 'fluorescence around us'.
Have you ever wondered what tonic water contains? Have you cut up a kiwi fruit and have seen inside with a UV light? We are close to know the answer.Nice ideas to make some videos are coming up! Don't miss them!

Dear parents,

During the year, apart from learning English in the usual way, your children will also study some topics or units related to science. Moreover, some II+D will be carried out during 'cicle mitjà'.
All through the month of November, we are working on the senses. You can have a look to the Power Point used in class with interesting and very useful links.
